Psalm 33 Part 4: What Happens When You Wait on Him

When you hear the word "waiting," your mind probably goes to sitting around, doing nothing, hoping something eventually happens. That is not what the kingdom version of waiting looks like. Kingdom waiting is doing. It is moving toward the vision God gave you even when you do not know how it is all going to work out. Because He cannot direct your feet if your feet are not moving.

That is where Psalm 33:18 through 22 wraps up this entire series. And honestly, the timing of this one hit different.

Waiting Is Not Weakness. It Is Faith in Motion.

Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope with confident expectation. We wait expectantly for the Lord. He is our help and our shield.

That word "expectantly" matters. It means you are not just hoping something works out. You are expecting Him to show up. The same way you expect your Uber to pull up after you request it. You do not sit there questioning whether the driver is actually coming. You just know. And yet when it comes to trusting God with your business, your next step, your finances, suddenly we need more proof than we give a stranger with a car.

God Sees You. You Are Not Invisible.

The eye of the Lord is on those who hope in Him. That means the listener is not forgotten. The builder is not unseen. The one who has been praying, working while waiting, and staying faithful is not invisible.

I have lived this. In 2024, the Lord pulled me out of my second corporate role. Both times I was let go, both companies told me how talented I was. And I used to beat myself up over that. Why would you let me go if I was so talented? But looking back, I can see that God was not removing me from something. He was pulling me toward something.

There was a moment after that second time where I just told the Lord, take it all. My title, my career, my skills, all of it belongs to You. Use me where You want me. And He did. But I did not just say that and sit there. I believed it in my heart, and I started moving.

He Sustains You in the Famine

Psalm 33 says He rescues their lives from death and keeps them alive in famine. That does not mean the hard season disappears. It means He carries you through it.

I remember driving my car during a season where I had no idea how the bills were going to get paid. And I said out loud, "Lord, it is none of my business how this is going to turn out. It is none of my business how You are going to do it. But I know that You are going to do it." And He did. Money came in. Doors opened. Things I could not have planned fell into place.

If God can sustain in famine, He can sustain you in this season. The business may feel slow. Clarity may feel delayed. But the season being dry does not mean the Provider has left. Jehovah Jireh is still your provider. Not your client roster. Not the economy. Him.

Trust Changes Your Posture

Psalm 33 says, "For in Him our hearts rejoice because we have trusted in His holy name." Joy is not something that shows up after the breakthrough. Joy comes from knowing who God is while you are still in the middle of it. Rejoicing is connected to where your confidence is placed.

Trust changes how you carry the season you are in. I have rejoiced while waiting because I knew it was coming. Not because everything was figured out, but because I knew who was figuring it out for me.

You do not need all the answers. You need anchored trust.

So if you are in a season of building and it feels like you are waiting on something you cannot see yet, keep moving. Keep seeking Him. Keep getting into His word. His eye is on you. His counsel stands forever. And His steadfast love is on you in proportion to the hope you place in Him. That is the kind of foundation everything else gets built on.
