Psalm 33 Part 3: When Your Best Strategy Is Not Enough

You have done the research. You have built the strategy. You have mapped it all out. And then it still did not work the way you thought it would. So you adjusted, tried harder, said yes to the thing that looked like it made sense on paper. And somewhere in the middle of all that effort, you stopped asking the one question that actually matters.

"God, is this what you asked me to do?"

That is where Psalm 33:10 through 17 meets us.

God Is Not Against Your Plan

He is against your plan replacing Him. Psalm 33:10 through 12 tells us that the Lord nullifies the counsel of the nations, but His counsel stands forever. That does not mean our plans do not matter. It means plans built without Him do not last. They are seasonal. They are limited. But when you bring your plan to Him and invite His counsel into the process, that plan has the potential to become something generational.

Your plan without Him could just be a season. His counsel woven into your plan could become a legacy.

The Things We Trust More Than God

The king is not saved by the great size of his army. A warrior is not rescued by his great strength. A horse is a false hope for victory. In other words, the things we lean on the most are not what actually save us.

That is what a false foundation looks like. Trusting the strategy more than the Strategist. Trusting the network more than the One who sent the right people to begin with. Trusting the revenue more than the Provider.

Jehovah Jireh is your provider. Not your job. Not your client roster. Not your follower count. Him.

Pressure Reveals Foundation

Pressure does not reveal weakness. It reveals foundation.

When the pressure comes, what is holding you up? Is it your strategy? Your hustle? Or is it Him? I have sat at my desk and had to ask the Lord, "Am I trying to carry something You never asked me to carry?" Sometimes the pressure is growth. Sometimes it is a signal that you picked up something that was never yours to hold.

You do not need a better plan. You need a stronger dependence.

He sees your effort. He sees your process. You are not invisible. And there are no favorites. What He has done for others, He will do for you. But it starts with keeping Him in it. Not just at the beginning. All the way through.
